Ever since 1571, a town which has kept flourishing in trades with Portugal, the Netherlands, the UK of the West and Southwestern countries including China, the port of Nagasaki has never closed its door even duringJapan’s isola­tion period when outside trade was prohibited. Hence, a town has grown into the nation’s most notable melting pot where cultures, civilization of ancient with new, East and West met. Furthermore, influenced by foreign innovation and entrepreneurship all anew to Japan, highly motivated intellectual and curious Japanese Hocked to develop a town into a unique cosmopolitan city, diverse Nagasaki of tolerant cultures, here at the western tip of Japan traditionally a conventional island.
